Business Development Manager – Exothera

Exothera is a Belgium-based CDMO dedicated to the manufacture of Viral Vectors and Nucleic Acids. Technology-driven, we provide bioprocessing expertise using the most innovative platforms, including those developed within the Univercells group. Exothera delivers accelerated discovery services, process development and optimization, to rapidly reach clinical and commercial production of vaccines, Viral Vectors, and LNP-encapsulated RNA.  


As a Business Development Manager at Exothera, you will be part of an experienced and welcoming team, who work towards a common goal. We present our value proposition with honesty and integrity, ensuring our partners feel heard. Focusing primarily on the UK, Spain, Portugal and APAC territories, you will be responsible for building relationships with those developing Vaccines, Cell and Gene Therapies, to grow our viral vector and mRNA manufacturing services.  

With great support and mentorship, you will be offering differentiated value propositions, including The 25L-2000L ExoReadyTM AAV platform, Adenovirus manufacturing, End to End mRNA services for RUO & GMP using the NtensifyTM platform & LNP encapsulation. 


  • Present our value propositions with honesty and integrity.   

  • Bring positive energy, ideas, and empathy to meetings with your colleagues. 

  • Work collaboratively with the BD team, marketing, and proposal writers.  

  • Actively engage at conferences, networking events and site visits. 

  • Conduct market research, identifying trends and emerging needs. 

  • Work with inside sales to prospect for new partnering opportunities. 

  • Use the Miller Heiman sales cycle strategy to actively manage the sales process.  

  • Identify needs, deliver proposals (with our proposal writers), negotiate, contract close and continue support (with project managers).  

  • Achieve group sales target.  

  • Help Exothera continually improve their processes and tools.  

  • Help build the Exothera brand and maintain customer satisfaction.  


  • Adaptable, Empathetic, Collaborative, Motivated and Curious.  

  • PhD or Master’s degree in relevant Biosciences subject. 

  • At least 3 years experience selling complex, high value biotechnology services. 

  • Solid scientific background, with the ability to learn about Cell and Gene Therapy, viral vector and mRNA manufacture. 

  • UK or Belgium based and willing to travel up to 40% of your time.
