Data Scientist in Platform Development – Exothera

Exothera is a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) dedicated to virus and viral vector production. As a Univercells company, Exothera provides best-in-class bioprocessing expertise that capitalizes on novel manufacturing technologies. The company delivers accelerated process development/optimization to rapidly reach GMP clinical and commercial production of virus and viral vectors. At Exothera and Univercells, our mission is to make health equally accessible to all.

Apply and be part of this great adventure!

Exothera is developing its platform (exoREADY) for viral vector manufacturing development. This to support its customers for a rapid & cost-effective introduction of their product to the market.

Curative gene therapies offer a paradigm change for the treatment of unmet medical needs, which urges developers to bring their candidates fast into clinical trials.

The goal of the exoREADY platform is to provide a service that enable the development of optimal manufacturing processes since the early stage and ensure affordable biological product to all.

The candidate will operate as part of the team responsible for implementing the platform for the development, optimization, and characterization of bioprocessing computational models. She/he will bring expertise and guidance in the data management and analysis to ensure data-driven decision-making during process development.

  • Identify and implement relevant IT tools and architecture to collect, structure the different data generated by the platform (analytical and manufacturing records, equipment, …).
  • Develop and adapt the models to contribute to process monitoring and improvement. This is done in collaboration with operational teams to continuously increase process effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Support model implementation via close partnership with colleague in charge of process development and technological transfer to manufacturing.
  • Design the supportive material to ensure easy adoption by end users
  • Facilitate introduction of IT tools in the labs (i.e. automation, tablets, barcode scanners, touch-screen dashboards) in collaboration with the IT department.
  • Construction and maintenance of dashboards to continuously monitor business and process performance (Control charts, performance indicator, In process monitoring…)

  • Master or PhD degree in Data science Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or Data Science / Master or PhD in life science with focus on data science
  • Experience in pharma or biotech industry and related regulatory framework (ICH Q12) is preferable
  • Programming experience in one or more languages (e.g. Python, SQL, JS, VB.NET)
  • Experience working with information technologies and systems and their applications in CMC activities (e.g. Laboratory Information Management Systems, Electronic Lab Notebooks, Chromatography Data Systems).
  • Experience in assembling, analysing, and visualizing complex data sets (e.g. Power BI)
  • Excellent communication skills – strong focus on data visualization and simplification
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent English skills
  • Problem solving mentality
